The following conversation happened in the waiting room of a laboratory suite I was at yesterday morning.
50+ y.o woman chatted up an old 80+ y.o couple seating on my left.
Woman : Awww... you guys are so sweet and loving! Holding hands while talking to each other softly.
Old woman : thank you...
Woman : So how long have you guys been married?
Old woman replied softly but excitedly, "nearly 5 years now..."
Everyone in the room including me stopped at what we were doing and looked up to the old couple. I smiled and the old man returned my smile.
Woman totally in shock for a min said, "oh..... I didn't expect that! I thought you guys were married for like 50+ years!"
Old man : yeah... we get that a lot.
Woman smiled and said, "so you guys are still in your honeymoon period!"
Old man replied, "yes... enjoyed my honeymoon period with my first wife for the last 50 years before she past away and will be with this woman for the rest of my life."
With that, the old man turned to the old woman seating on his left and kissed her on her forehead.
